The grand opening of Julia’s Doll House took place on 19.04.2022 and it welcomes visitors from 26.04.2022 during opening hours.

I have loved dolls since I was a child. I am from Transylvania, I got married in Hungary in 1982 and I brought almost 50 dolls with me. These are not porcelain of course but they are all very dear to me.

I got the oldest doll when I was two and a half years old and then every famous occasion and holiday enriched the collection. I took great care of my dolls therefore they remained in such condition that they could become part of the exhibition.

I bought a small sitting porcelain doll, Josephin with a wonderful little wicker chair and she successfully “infected” me with the love for porcelain dolls. Since then, I have been constantly looking for beautiful and nice dolls. The stock grew constantly so my husband and I thought that this wonderful world of dolls should be shown to those living in our neighborhood and to visitors coming to our city. Therefore, we created the Julia’s Doll House Association which presents and organizes the exhibition material.

At the time of the opening, we could boast of nearly 550 dolls and the collection has been expanding since then. 90-95 % of the dolls are porcelain, more than half of which are limited series.

This means that the designer dreams up, creates and decides how many pieces of the given doll will be made. This number can vary. Sometimes only one piece is created from certain dolls, sometimes up to 10,000 pieces. But it is not unusual that many more unmarked dolls come out in stores.

As a matter of the size of the dolls, it can vary from 8-10 centimeters to more than 1 meter. As for their clothing, most of the dolls are in their original clothes.

At Christmas, Carnival and Easter, the vinyl dolls dress up in clothes appropriate for the holiday. We always try to organize the exhibition according to the given holiday.

These limited edition dolls come with a tag and a certificate (similar to a birth certificate). A doll is considered complete when it is purchased with these papers and in its original box.

In addition to the porcelain dolls, the collection includes vinyl, resin hard plastic and rubber dolls, which also provide a great experience to our visitors.
